    High school basketball: New London girls rout Waterford 67-42

    New London - New London High School's frontcourt of India Pagan (18 points, 9 rebounds) and Charee Osborne (14 points, 12 rebounds) combined for 32 points and 21 rebounds Friday night in a 67-42 victory over Waterford in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Medium Division girls' basketball game.

    Deanna McCarvell added 14 points and six assists for New London (11-1, 5-0), the 10th-ranked team in the New Haven Register Top 10 Poll. The Whalers led 20-8 after one quarter.

    Mia Brennan had a team-high 11 points for Waterford (7-3, 2-2).

    In other games:

    • Margot Calmar had 28 points and 11 rebounds in Stonington's 74-47 victory over Killingly in the ECC Medium Division. Taty LaFrance Boyce added 21 points and seven steals, Claire Schlink 11 points and 11 rebounds and Cameron Dreher 10 points for Stonington (10-2, 4-1).

    • Taylor LaVallie scored 19 points, shooting 8-for-11, as Montville topped Plainfield 51-42 in the ECC Medium Division. Junior point guard Naomi Clark added eight assists against just one turnover for Montville (6-5, 2-2). Montville led 40-20 after three quarters.

    • Brianna Robinson had 13 points as Fitch edged Tourtellotte in overtime, 46-45. Mackenzie Aldridge scored 11 for Fitch (4-5) and Summer Mills added nine points.

    • Michelle Klinikowski scored 16 points and had eight rebounds as Ledyard beat Lyman Memorial 43-27. Sarah Serbacewicz scored 15 for Ledyard (7-4).

    • Julia Strycharz scored 14 points and had 12 rebounds as Old Lyme beat Portland 43-19 in a Shoreline Conference game. Abby Stone had 18 points and eight steals for Old Lyme (8-3, 8-2).

    • Mackenzie Brayma scored 19 points, leading Wheeler to a 46-25 win over Parish Hill. Maddie Porter had 11 rebounds, Kylie Baker had 10 rebounds and Kaite Morgan had four assists and three steals for Wheeler (4-7).

    • Grasso Tech outscored Norwich Tech 13-7 in the fourth quarter, earning a 46-42 win in the Constitution State Conference. Preonna Boyd-Cannon scored 16 points, Tabitha Ford had 15 points and Keila LaStraglio scored 11 for Grasso. Madison Badley scored 13 and Shella Jeanty had 12 points for Norwich Tech.

    Boys

    • Mike Froscello scored 14 points to help lead Norwich Tech to a 66-46 win over Grasso Tech in a CSC game. Norwich Tech (2-6) led 31-23 at halftime and outscored Grasso 18-10 in the third quarter to take charge. Mack Osias had 11 points and eight rebounds, Jacob Sulik scored 12 and Justin Brown had 11 points for Norwich Tech. Kendrick Amaro had 14 points and Kevin Philibert scored 12 for Grasso Tech.

    • Mark Malchiodi made a pair of free throws with five seconds left to secure St. Bernard's 55-51 victory over East Lyme. Paul Pepas led the Saints (4-2) with 22 points and Remy Bonser added 20, while Christian Brown paced the Vikings (0-10) with 14 points, Jeremiah Northcutt added 11 and Mark Powers 10.

    • Rocky Hill (R.I.) pulled away in the second half to defeat Williams School 56-37. Jack Fader led the Blues with 13 points and Jack Hisle added nine.

    • Jim Hansen's basket at the buzzer in overtime lifted Parish Hill to a 60-59 win over Wheeler in a nonleague game. Jacob Raggon had 29 points and Max Dussault scored 10 for Wheeler (3-4).
