    H.S. softball: Paride, Houck help keep Wheeler prefect

    North Stonington — Jenn Paride pitched a six-hitter and Raven Houck drove in four runs as Wheeler remained unbeaten with a 14-4 win over Bacon Academy on Thursday.

    Paride (4-0) struck out 13 with one walk, allowing two earned runs in six innings. Houck was 3-for-4 with a double, triple and home run and scored twice.

    Lena Curland (two RBI, three runs) and Kylie Baker (two runs) each had three hits including a double for Wheeler (4-0).

    In other games:

    • Claire Hurley went 3-for-4, including a two-run single in the top of the eighth inning, to lift Waterford past Plainfield 5-2 in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Medium Division game. Kazi Walker struck out 11, Shea Spellman had two hits, and Hurley finished with three RBI for the Lancers (4-2, 3-0).

    • Jackie Lewis and Jonell Hobert were each 3-for-5 with a home run as No. 2 Fitch beat Montville 16-5. Jayden Delaporta (2-0) was the winning pitcher and Caroline Taber tripled for Fitch (7-0). Katrina Awad (triple) and Amanda Perkins (double) had two hits each for Montville (1-4).

    • Haley Wilt had two hits, four runs and two RBI and Nicole McComiskey added a single, four runs and an RBI as Ledyard downed Tourtellotte, 18-4. Madison Sanborn had a single, two runs and two RBI, Kali Money went 4-for-5 with two RBI and a run and Olivia Satti had a double, two runs and an RBI for the Colonels (3-3). Also, Jessica Kuelling had two hits, a run and an RBI and struck out 11 and Briana Bisson had a single, two RBI and a run

    • Mikaela LoPriore gave up one hit over five innings and hit her fourth home run of the season as East Lyme beat St. Bernard 15-0. Alex Marsh and Hannah LeBeau had two hits each for East Lyme (4-1). Sophie Nelson took the loss for the Saints (4-2).

    • Mallory Kane went 3-for-4 and scored and Trinity Lennon pitched a five-hitter with five strikeouts as Stonington blanked Killingly, 6-0, in the ECC Medium. Lainnie Connor hit a solo home run for the Bears (5-2, 2-1) and Jess Connor doubled and scored.

    • Griswold scored 15 runs in the top of the fourth inning and beat New London 19-1 in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Medium Division game. Tiffany McPherson doubled for New London (0-5, 0-3).

    • Kyra Teixeira homered twice as Old Lyme beat Two Rivers 19-1 in a nonleague game. Audrey Gavin tripled twice and Rachel Hayward, Lexi Duddy and Brittney Barbato doubled from Old Lyme.
