I'm embarrassed at how our leaders have responded to the recent tragedy in Paris. It's bad enough that we refused to send a senior official to the rally attended by just about all of our allies. We compounded that omission by refusing to call it an act of Muslim terrorism, and worse yet, when the president did respond, it was a joke. The "hug'" from Secretary of State John Kerry was silly in of itself, but was made worse when the secretary had James Taylor croak out a pitiful version of, "You've Got A Friend." If this is the best we're willing to do for our friends when they need us, we're not going to have many friends in the future.

The next two years can't pass quickly enough.
