Republicans welcome Gov. Dannel P. Malloy’s recently announced efforts to restore fiscal stability to Connecticut’s finances, “A tough budget for difficult times,” (Feb. 4). We will work in collaboration with the governor to pull our state out of its permanent budget crisis. 

At the same time, we urge readers of The Day to watch closely the actions of the Democrats who hold majorities in the House and Senate. Will majority Democrats choose to not follow the lead of the governor and minority Republicans? If so, that short-sighted choice will speak volumes and they should be held accountable for their failure.
