    Haitian immigrant backs Chris Soto

Originally from Haiti, I moved to the U.S. in 2005. I came to New London to attend Connecticut College and graduated in 2011, I worked for a year at the college, went on to graduate school at Merrimack College in Massachusetts, returning to New London as a resident and professional at the college. I am the happiest in New London and I could not be more excited to see Chris Soto running for state representative.

I’ve known Chris for a few years. He is the young change agent who is an excellent role model for those of us who work to build community and make positive change. He displays all the great qualities that one wants to see in a leader. Chris is a great listener, outspoken, determined, passionate, and culturally sensitive. He can unite and mobilize youth who relate to him as a youthful leader who is hip, positive and driven. He is also able to mobilize his peers and those that are older.

As a Haitian immigrant, I care deeply about the advancement of my Haitian community in New London and I believe that Chris understands the issues pertaining to us and other immigrants.
