Both sides wrong in fierce gun debate

The antics of children pretending to be logical down-to-business politicians is a disgrace to our nation. Both Republicans and Democrats must share the blame. One side would remove guns from our society as a long-term goal. Those same people,  led by a president who shares their belief, have done nothing to ease the problem of gang and mob violence in the largely controlled Democratic cities. This same president has allowed, through his inaction, the rise of a "Hydra" in the Middle East called the "Islamic State."

His actions on the home front make us the laughing stock of the civilized world. The other side reacts by calling out the "Chicken Little" theme at the first mention of any reasonable actions to stop the violence.

Buying a gun should be through a licensed gun dealer nationwide with a background check. Having committed a crime of violence against a person or being mentally psychotic or being on the no-fly list should disqualify a person. In Newtown the system of checks and balances failed us.

The final report confirmed it. America can do better than this.
