Warner Bailey House another historic treasure

I commend The Day Newspaper for highlighting this important point about Connecticut historical properties, “Connecticut neglects its treasures,” (Nov. 19). Yet another property, the Anna Warner Bailey House and Tavern in Groton Bank is sorely in need of restoration and there is a committee forming that is working towards that end. Anna Warner Bailey was a Connecticut native who exemplified the strength of women during the Revolutionary War as well as the War of 1812. The house was home to other noteworthy persons that added to Connecticut history.

I agree whole heartedly that we must improve our marketing skills and reach out to others in the community who will be dedicated to saving, preserving and attracting visitors to our state.
