Mirna Martinez acts for New London children

I support the re-election of Mirna Martinez to the New London Board of Education. Mirna is a mother, teacher and current school board member who’s grounded in a progressive political vision. She has experience teaching in urban settings including Boston, New York City and New London. She holds a Master of Science in bilingual education. She puts her beliefs into action and works to make New London a better place for all, especially children.

As a member of the Green Party, she’s committed to its vision but is willing to work across party lines to ensure that the diverse educational needs of New London’s children are met. She’s worked in collaboration with board members and families in a pragmatic way to resolve complex issues. As chair of the board's Policy Committee she's worked for equity in school policy.

When Mirna commits to work on a task she sticks with it.  She’s the co-founder of New London Parent Advocates. She’s willing to take a firm stand on difficult questions but also carefully listens to other people’s viewpoints and considers them when she makes decisions. On Nov. 7 vote to re-elect Mirna Martinez.
