For the first time since Salem's current first selectman was elected in 2009, both the Democrat and Republican parties are not endorsing Kevin Lyden's candidacy for re-election. It has become a popular catch phrase to "run the town or government like a business" but this concept has its limits once you get past some financial benefits.The Town of Salem is a community not a business, and we need someone who will work in a more collaborative style of leadership. This candidate is Sue Spang. Salem is fortunate to have a well-qualified candidate who is willing to run for the office of first selectman.

Sue's broad range of experiences and accomplishments on behalf of Salem makes her the right person at the right time.
