    Students recognized in regional art awards

    Senior Angela Wang of Uncasville received a Gold Key in the Connecticut region of the National Scholastic Art Awards for her painting portfolio “Wabi-Sabi.”

    Saint Bernard School students Angela Wang and Payton McCauley were recently recognized for their work by the Connecticut region of the National Scholastic Art Awards and the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers Awards Program.

    Wang, a senior from Uncasville, received a Gold Key in the painting category for her portfolio, titled “Wabi-Sabi.”

    Junior Payton McCauley of Salem received an Honorable Mention in the drawing and illustration category for her piece “Anatomy Man.”

    All student works from around the state will be on display through Feb. 2 at the Silpe Gallery at the University of Hartford in West Hartford.
