Memorial dinner for James A. Greenleaf Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund to be held Feb. 10

The annual memorial dinner for the James A. Greenleaf Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund will be held on Feb. 10 and will serve as an opportunity "to gather together and celebrate his life, and hear directly from the scholarship recipients," according to an event notice.

The scholarship fund was established to honor and remember Greenleaf, a graduate of St. Bernard High School in Montville and Connecticut College in New London, who lost his life as a result of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks in New York City. The fund is used to provide financial assistance to students attending St. Bernard High School as well as graduating seniors from Waterford High School, Fitch High School and New London High School toward their college tuition.

The memorial dinner takes place each year on the Saturday closest to Greenleaf's birthday, Feb. 10, 1969.

The event on Feb. 10 at Filomena's, 262 Boston Post Road in Waterford, will start at 5 p.m., featuring a cocktail hour, dinner and a speaking program.

The dinner is $45 per person. For more information or to register, visit www.jamesgreenleaf.org.
