Stonington Schools to present program on accomodating those with disabilities
Stonington _ A program for service providers to learn more about accomodating children and adults with disabilities will be held Thursday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Stonington High School commons.
The program is open to, but not limted to, day care facilities, preschools, camps, recreational organizations, summer programs, libraries, sports organizations and museums. The event is sponsored by the Stonington Public Schools Special Services Office and the Stonington Public Schools Parent Advisory Council.
Presenters will share information about best practices in terms of inclusion, how to train and hire staff, information to ask parents, creating an appropriate environment and examples of common accomodations. For more information call 860-572-0506, Ext. 4.
