    Black Wolves come undone in second half and lose 20-9

    Mohegan — The Buffalo Bandits rode a five goal, six assist effort by Mark Steenhuis into an easy 20-9 victory over the New England Black Wolves in a National Lacrosse League game at Mohegan Sun Arena on Sunday night.

    The Black Wolves (4-12) play the final home game of their inaugural season in Connecticut on Friday night at 7 against the Toronto Rock.

    Garrett Billings had a season high five assists for New England while Kyle Buchanan had a goal and two assists, Jimmy Purves scored a career-high two goals, and Kevin Buchanan, Mark Cockerton and Josh Johnson each had a goal and two assists.

    The Black Wolves trailed 7-6 when the Bandits close the first half on a 5-2 run to take a 12-8 halftime lead.

    Buffalo dominated the second half, outscoring New England 8-1 thanks to Steeenhuis' three goals and two assists.

    Evan Kirk (25 saves) and Tye Belanger (8) combined for 33 saves in goal for the Black Wolves.
