    Mitchell College names Tricinelli as softball coach

    Keri Tricinelli has been named head coach of the Mitchell College softball team, it was announced on Thursday by interim Director of Athletics Dana Fulmer Garfield.

    Tricinelli, a 2013 graduate of the University of New Haven, was been an assistant coach at Wagner College, Georgian Court University and Black Hills State University.

    "We are extremely excited to add Keri to our coaching staff," said Garfield in a press release. "She has strong recruiting connections within the region that will help grow the program, and her energy, enthusiasm and passion will lead the way for both current and future student-athletes."

    Mitchell was 17-15 last season and won its first New England Collegiate Conference regular season title with a 16-2 mark.

    "I want to thank Athletic Director Dana Fulmer Garfield and the selection committee for giving me the opportunity to lead the Mitchell softball program," said Tricinelli in a press release. "I am very excited and eager to get started! We have some tremendous softball players on this team, and I look forward to coaching each player to achieve a higher level of play so we can build on the success of the last season and add to the history of the program."

    Tricinelli was a four-year letterwinner at New Haven, pitching and serving as a designated hitter.
