Michelle Kwan, the most decorated figure skater in U.S. history, center, gets a hug Thursday from one of her younger fans during her brief appearance at the Washington Trust Community Skating Center in Westerly as part of the Westerly Mentor Skating Spectacular. The event was hosted by the Westerly Mentor Program and the Ocean Community YMCA's Reach & Rise Mentor Program. Kwan, a two-time Olympic medalist and five-time world champion, spoke of the importance of mentoring, signed autographs and posed for pictures with her fans.
