Mago Point redevelopment up for discussion March 19

Waterford — A workshop aimed at seeking input from residents on the creation of a redevelopment plan for Mago Point is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 19, at at Town Hall.

"The plan will identify improvements that will visually enhance the area to make it an attractive destination for visitors, residents and businesses," according to a letter from Director of Planning and Development Dennis Goderre to town property owners.

For more information, Waterford residents may contact the town planning department or visit www.waterfordct.org/magopointplan.html.

Mago Point runs from Route 156 and juts out into the Niantic River. Since the bridge connecting Waterford to East Lyme was replaced in 1991, residents and owners of businesses on the point have complained that the small peninsula is hidden in the shadow of the new bridge and people don't see it.
