    Commuter Rail Council to hold meeting Wednesday in New London

    New London — The Connecticut Commuter Rail Council, an independent state board appointed by Gov. Dannel P. Malloy and legislators to advocate on behalf of rail commuters, will hold its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, in New London City Hall Council Chambers.

    Generally Stamford-based, the council is meeting in New London to hear from Shore Line East riders on commuter issues including ticket cross-honoring, line improvements and expansion.

    The state Department of Transportation Rail Administrator Carl Jackson and Assistant Rail Administrator Rich Jankovich, along with Ernie Piper, Amtrak infrastructure planning manager, are slated to attend the meeting. Public comment will begin at 6 p.m.
