Yoda and Davy came into my life the night their mother had her kittens in our peppermint patch by our back door in Southern California. I found homes for the rest, but sensed that these two should be mine. They crossed the country with me when I came to live in Connecticut. In their youth, they were great hunters. Davy especially was a good mouser and “moler,” and Yoda once alerted us that there was a bat in the fireplace. These days they like nothing better than to relax in a sunny spot near where I am working.
