Lord Foundation creates endowed scholarship for Three Rivers engineering students

Norwich — The Three Rivers College Foundation announced that the Edward and Mary Lord Foundation has established a $30,000 endowed scholarship in memory of Edward P. Lord and will support students who are studying in the technical fields of engineering with, ideally, an emphasis on electrical components.

“Our scholarship endowment portfolio is designed to provide sustainability,” said Betty Baillargeon, director of Institutional Advancement at Three Rivers Community College. “Donors can see the immediate impact of their gift while creating a lasting legacy at the same time.”

The Edward P. Lord scholarship will provide qualifying students the opportunity to attend Three Rivers and fulfill goals that otherwise might go unfulfilled.

Over the 41-year history, the college foundation has raised funds to support scholarships, funding for tutors, faculty development, program initiatives and arts and cultural events on campus, such as the visual fine arts show and Booker DeVaughn Distinguished Lecture Series.
