The Ledyard Parks and Recreation Department is looking to fill spots in two of its upcoming classes.

The first, a level one Reiki certification class instructed by Marie Healy, will teach students how to perform an effective healing treatment on themselves and others.

The class, which costs $220, will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Ledyard Parks and Recreation Building.

The second, "a meditation on drawing" class, will allow participants to either gain basic skills or enhance existing ones through still life.

Eleanor Miller, who has a master of fine arts degree and has work displayed in galleries throughout the country, will conduct the class.

The class, intended for people who are 16 and older, will happen at Ledyard Middle School every Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. beginning Sept. 29. The fee is $80.
