Columbus Day closings

Monday is Columbus Day. Here is a list of closings in observance.

• Federal, state and municipal offices will be closed. State parks will be open.

• Post offices will be closed, although Express Mail, special deliveries and perishable items will be delivered.

• Banks and credit unions will be closed.

• Schools and public libraries will be closed.

• Southeast Area Transit will be operating on a holiday schedule.

• Shore Line East and Metro-North trains will run on a normal schedule.

• The Department of Motor Vehicles will reopen at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday.

• Connecticut Lottery Corp. headquarters will be closed. Regular drawings will occur.
