The New London Lodge of Elks is holding its annual Firefighters Day celebration April 20 at the Lodge at 81 Washington St.

The event is held each year to honor local firefighters and paramedics. Elks, guests, family and friends are invited. Social hour begins at 6 p.m. with a pot roast dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets are available for $10 at the door or in advance at the Elks Lodge and at local fire stations. This year’s honorees include Harry Reed of the New London Fire Department; John Dwire, Jr. of the Niantic Fire Department; Michael Butterworth of the Oakdale Fire Department; John Tackling of the Chesterfield Fire Department; Mark Russomano of the Jordan Fire Company; Emily Crocker of the Quaker Hill Fire Company; Michael Clapsadle of the Goshen Fire Department; Chris Pafias of the Oswegatchie Fire Company; John Mariano of the Cohanzie Fire Company; and Gary Hebert, Lawrence + Memorial Hospital paramedic.
