A reunion of Huntleys

The oldest and youngest members of the Huntley family pose earlier this month during a reunion in Old Saybrook. Virgil W. Huntley is 100, and Brayden Carlstrom is 2.
Nearly 100 family members celebrated the 70th Huntley family reunion recently at Clark Memorial Field in Old Saybrook. Members of the family, which was originally from Lyme, came from all over the United States and Canada for the reunion, hosted by Trish Wilkinson Gil and Casey Wilkinson Zahn.
The gathering included a birthday celebration of the oldest member, 100-year-old Virgil W. Huntley of Mystic, who served in World War ll and is treasurer of the Huntley National Association.
Proclamations were read from Congressman Joe Courtney and Governor Dannel P. Malloy.
