Nighttime bridge maintenance announced for I-95 in East Lyme
East Lyme — The state Department of Transportation has announced that a nighttime bridge maintenance project will be performed on Interstate 95 in town, beginning Sunday.
The project consists of bridge maintenance on the Route 161 overpass and I-395 overpass. The work is scheduled 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. from Sunday, Aug. 28, to the morning of Friday, Sept. 16.
This project is included in DOT’s 2016 bridge maintenance program and is being performed by Costello Industries Inc.
Drivers can expect various lane closures on I-95 northbound and southbound between Exits 74 and 80.
There will be no lane closures on Friday, Sept. 2, through Monday, Sept. 5, in observance of the Labor Day holiday.
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be used to guide drivers through the work zone.
Drivers should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.
Drivers are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in the vicinity of the work zone.
