DOT announces repair project in Town of Groton

The state Department of Transportation has announced that it will conduct repairs in the Town of Groton. The project entails structural steel repairs to the bridge that carries the Exit 87 ramp from I-95 southbound to Route 349 over I-95 northbound.

The DOT said drivers can expect left or right lane closures on I-95 northbound at Exit 87 (Clarence B. Sharp Highway), and the Route 349 on and off ramps. Traffic control personnel, along with signs, will guide drivers through the work zone. Drivers are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in the area.

The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:30 pm to 5:30 a.m. Monday, May 15, through Friday morning, June 2, according to DOT. Changes or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions, DOT said.
