John “Jack” and LaVerne Alexander of Old Lyme celebrated their 60th anniversary on Sept. 29, 2016. They were married at St. John The Baptist Church, in Unity, Pa., on Sept. 29, 1956. Jack is a metallurgical engineer and graduate of Carnegie Mellon University and LaVerne is a gifted artist and amazing mother.

Jack and LaVerne have six children, John Jr. (Atlanta, Ga.), Pamela Jayne (Westbrook), David (Ridgewood, N.J.), Daniel (Aberdeen, Md.), Tina Albrecht (Oakland, N.J.) and Bonnie Rizzuti (Austin, Texas). They also have eleven grandchildren – Jenny, Ashleigh, John III, Katherine, Lauren, Eric, Wolfgang, Kyle, Julia, Grace and Eddie. Jack and LaVerne welcomed their first great-grandchild into the fold this year on the eve of their 60th year together with baby Jordan stealing their hearts.

After seven states and seven places they have called home, it is more evident than ever that home is where they can look into each others eyes and share all the good times and memories that they have made together.
