FBI, police offer reward in Islamic school vandalism case

West Warwick, R.I. (AP) — Police are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person who vandalized the Islamic School of Rhode Island last month.

The FBI announced Friday that it was partnering with the West Warwick Police Department and the West Warwick Town Council to offer the reward.

The FBI is conducting a civil rights investigation into the vandalism at the West Warwick school that occurred Feb. 14.

The entrance was tagged with graffiti that read "Now this is a hate crime," ''pigs" and offensive references to Muhammad.

The FBI has released still photos from surveillance video from the school in an effort to identify the suspect.
