Norwich — City police said they arrested a 26-year-old man Saturday in connection with a residential burglary of several firearms last summer, after they first chased him on foot.

Police said they responded about 10:30 a.m. Saturday to an apartment complex on 495 Laurel Hill Ave. following a report of a possible domestic disturbance.

According to police, Thuwesdia O. Robinson, 26, of 25 Rogers Ave., Apt. A, was involved in the disturbance and police pursued him on foot after he left the scene.

Officers caught Robinson within a short distance and said they discovered a loaded .40 caliber Glock handgun with a high-capacity magazine inside a backpack Robinson had thrown away during the pursuit.

Robinson also possessed crack cocaine, police said.

After an investigation, police said they determined the firearm was stolen, along with several others, during a burglary in August 2014.

Robinson was charged with interfering with an officer, criminal possession of a firearm, theft of a firearm, possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell and possession of a high-capacity magazine. He was held on a $250,000 bond and is due in Norwich Superior Court on Monday.
