Norwich police find missing kids, lost woman

Norwich – Police spent time Monday evening tracking down missing or lost residents, including four juveniles who wandered away from a gathering in the area of Town Street.

Police set up a perimeter and used a K-9 team to help find the children, between the ages of 3 and 11, who were last seen before dark in the area of a cemetery off Town Street. They were eventually found by police officers on East Town Street, said Sgt. John Perry.

Shortly after nightfall, police responded to the woods in the area of Ox Hill Road for a 23-year-old woman who got lost after trying to take a short cut from Flyers Drive to the Greeneville area. An emergency dispatcher coordinated the police response, talking to the woman on her cellphone while police used their lights and sirens to help locate her. The woman emerged from the woods on Tower Hill Road and was taken by ambulance to The William W. Backus Hospital for treatment of scratches and scrapes.
