State police in North Stonington search for armed robbers
North Stonington — State police are investigating the early morning robbery of the Pilot Truck Stop on Interstate 95 at Exit 93.
State police responded to the robbery at 12:54 a.m. Police said two white males entered the rear of the truck stop gas station and approached two employees.
One suspect was armed with a knife and walked behind the counter and demanded money from the register. The second suspect was armed with a gun. A small amount of cash was taken during the robbery.
Police secured the area and conducted a search with a K-9, but were unable to locate the suspects.
One suspect is described as a white male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 200 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a black bandana covering his nose and mouth. He also was wearing black pants and brown shoes and was carrying a small rifle.
The second suspect is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, weighing about 150 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, Dickie-style water pants and blue sneakers. He was armed with a knife.
The suspects fled in a possible black-colored sports utility/van-type vehicle.
