Stonington police charge woman with drunk driving twice in 10 hours

Stonington — Police charged a Nevada woman with driving under the influence Thursday morning less than three hours after they released her following her drunk driving arrest Wednesday night.

Magdalena M. Favorite, 64, of Henderson, Nev., was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to drive right and evading responsibility at 6:32 p.m. on Wednesday night.

Police said she had struck a stone wall at a private home and drove away before police apprehended her.

She was released on a $50,000 nonsurety bond at 7:33 a.m. Thursday morning.

At 10:14 a.m. Thursday morning, police said they received an anonymous call that Favorite was drinking and driving.

Police said they found her parked at Evan’s Mobil in downtown Pawcatuck with a mostly consumed 1.75-liter bottle of vodka and the keys in the ignition.

She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and driving with a suspended license.

She is being held on a bond and is scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Friday.

Police also took a dog she had in the car to the town’s animal control facility.
