Waterford — A police officer early this morning found a dog tied to a tree.
According to the police department's Facebook page, the dog was found tied to a tree near the animal shelter sign on Boston Post Road around 6 a.m.
"The dog, which is a male, was very large and strong and did his best not to allow Officer (Robert) Edwards to secure him in the shelter," the Facebook posting said. "However, he is now secure in the Waterford-East Lyme Animal Control facility."
Anyone with information about the dog is asked to call animal control at (860) 867-6731.
