Ledyard — Police have charged a 19-year-old Ledyard man with criminal attempt to commit first-degree assault and second-degree assault after he allegedly stabbed a female victim in the head, arm and hand.

Just before 10:50 p.m. Monday, police responded to a reported assault on Country Club Drive, where they found a female victim suffering from stab wounds to her head, arm and hand.

During the initial response and investigation at the scene, police arrested Alec Chattin of Country Club Drive without incident.
