    New London man faces heroin, crack possession charges

    New London – Police on Thursday raided a Colman Street apartment where they seized heroin, cocaine and cash. A city man now faces multiple drug-related charges.

    City police narcotics officers joined with members of the Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force and the Regional Community Enhancement Task Force to execute a search-and-seizure warrant at 264 Colman St. Police said they found 50.9 grams of heroin, 38.4 grams of crack cocaine, $7,425 and drug paraphernalia.

    Rudy Hernandez, 42, was charged with two counts possession of narcotics, two counts possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of drug paraphernalia and operating a drug factory.

    Hernandez was held in lieu of $250,000 and slated to appear Friday in New London Superior Court.
