    Four injured in boating accident in Little Narragansett Bay

    Stonington — Four people were injured Friday night when a boat struck a rock in Little Narragansett Bay.

    Emergency response crews were called to the area of Seal Rocks off Osbrook Point about 8 p.m. for the report of a boat in distress with five adults aboard, according to a release from the Watch Hill Fire Department.

    Stonington and Westerly police and Watch Hill, Pawcatuck and Wequetequock fire departments all responded.

    The vessel, a 22-foot powerboat, was located between Sandy Point and Osbrook Point, according to the release.

    The victims were transferred to the Stonington police boat and were treated by Watch Hill EMTs while they were being taken to Barn Island, the release said.

    One victim was then transported to Westerly Hospital with a shoulder injury.
