    Police: New London man had 12.3 grams of heroin in apartment

    New London — A local man is in custody after police said they found 12.3 grams of heroin in his apartment Thursday.

    Eric Malloy Sr., 53, of 837 Bank St., Apt. 1, was charged Thursday with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell and operating a drug factory.

    Police said they, in conjunction with members of the Statewide Narcotics Task Force – East, served a search-and-seizure warrant at Malloy’s residence about 9:15 a.m. Thursday.

    In addition to the 12.3 grams of heroin, police said they found drug paraphernalia in the apartment.

    Malloy was held on a $100,000 bond.
