Stabbing in New London sends two to hospital

New London — Two people are in the hospital after apparently being stabbed Wednesday night, police said Thursday morning.

Police said they, along with fire department personnel, responded to a reported stabbing incident at 40 Crystal Ave. about 10:44 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers located a man on the fourth floor of the C building at 40 Crystal Ave. who had “several injuries” that likely came from a cutting instrument, police said.

As fire personnel were administering medical care to the man, police discovered a second man with stab wounds. They said they found the second man in close proximity to the first.

Police identified the men as Nahvon Carroll, 22, last known address of 544 Shennecossett Road, Groton, and Nahkym Carroll, 19, of no certain address.

Both men were taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for treatment. When asked for an update on their conditions, L + M spokesman Michael O'Farrell said he could not provide any information.

Police said members of the Investigative Services Division and the Patrol Division canvassed the area and secured evidence. They are investigating “multiple leads,” police said.

Police are asking anyone with information related to the incident to call them at (860) 447-1481 or submit information anonymously through the department’s online Tips 411 system.
