    Police seek suspect in robbery of Bank of America in Westerly

    Police say this man robbed the Westerly Bank of America branch on Franklin Street Friday at about 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, 2016.

    Westerly — Police are looking for a man who they say robbed the Bank of America on Franklin Street on Friday afternoon.

    Police said the man walked into the bank with a note, demanded money and fled with an undetermined amount of cash. The robbery took place just before 2 p.m.

    The man was seen leaving the rear parking lot toward East Avenue. He is described as a white male, around 5 feet 8 inches tall, wearing a green rain parka along with a tan fishing hat.

    Anyone with information is asked to call Westerly Police at (401) 596-2022.
