Norwich Public Utilities to perform overnight upgrades Thursday

Norwich — Water will be shut off at various local homes and businesses Thursday morning as crews work to upgrade the water system along Salem Turnpike, according to Norwich Public Utilities officials.

In a news release, NPU spokesman Chris Riley said the outages will occur between 1 and 4 a.m. and will impact: 273-350 Salem Turnpike, Arrowhead Drive, Trading Cove Circle, Country Drive, Teddy Lane, Woodlawn Terrace, Carey Lane, Stone Cliff Lane, Patrick Place, Lauren Lane and 210-248 Old Salem Road. Also affected will be those who are along Autumn Way, which is in Bozrah.

Riley said the upgrades consist of improving two water mains and installing new infrastructure.

NPU encourages customers to let cold water run from their faucets for three to five minutes once water has been restored.
