Police identify man injured when car hit scooter in New London

New London — Police have identified the man who was seriously injured when a Connecticut College student drove her car into his scooter on state Route 32 early Tuesday morning.

Police said Zachary E. Chesebro, 36, of no certain address remains in critical condition.

Police identified the driver of the car as Connecticut College student Sophia Thielman, 19, of Rye Brook, N.Y., and charged her on Tuesday with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Police continue to investigate the crash.
