New London — Police arrested three people Thursday in connection with an assault that took place on Tilley Street.

Police said officers were called to a reported assault in the area of 39 and 25 Tilley St. about 9:34 p.m. Thursday. Responding officers said they found a male victim suffering from injuries to his face.

In a release issued Friday, police said they developed information that led them to a suspect, Eric Williams, 33, of 39 Tilley St. He was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, breach of peace and interfering with police.

Police said they received tips about firearms and alleged threats from what they said was a concerned person at the scene. The investigation, which also involved city detectives, led to two additional arrests:

Xavier Maddox, 20, of 40 Montauk Ave. was charged with breach of peace and interfering with police.

Roderick Hunt, 33, of 24 Brewer St. was charged with breach of peace.

Additionally, police said two firearms were seized: a Glock pistol and Mauser pistol.

The investigation is ongoing. Police are asking anyone who may have information connected with the incident to call the department at (860) 447-1481 or submit an anonymous tip via the city's Tips 411 system.
