Colchester — State police arrested a Clinton man Monday evening after he allegedly fled while police were attempting to serve a warrant and led police on a car chase through Salem and into Bozrah.

Jason Angell, 36, of Clinton was charged with driving an unregistered vehicle, misuse of plates, failure to meet minimum insurance requirements, driving with a suspended license, reckless driving, engaging police in pursuit and interfering with an officer.

Police said they found Angell on Dr. Foote Road after someone reported an “unwanted person” there and learned there were three active warrants for his arrest.

According to police, Angell, who was in a vehicle, fled as Colchester officers approached. State police joined the pursuit when it went onto state Route 2. From there, police said Angell continued on state Route 11 through Salem before taking state Route 82 into Bozrah.

The chase ended in Bozrah when Angell’s vehicle hit stop sticks and was disabled, police said.

Police said Angell was held on a $50,000 cash bond. He was due in Norwich Superior Court on Tuesday.
