    Groton man arrested on drug, weapons charges

    Groton — A Groton man was arrested on drug and weapons charges Sunday after being pulled over for texting while driving and officers found drugs, a stiletto-style knife and a stun gun in the car, according to a Groton City police narrative.

    Gregory W. Frasure Jr., 27, of 608 Shennecossett Road, Apt. A, was charged with possession of marijuana within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of drug paraphernalia in a drug factory, unauthorized manufacture or sale of marijuana, possession of a hallucinogenic controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of marijuana with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school, two counts of weapons in vehicles and cellphone use while driving, the narrative said.

    Police arrested Frasure at 4:46 p.m. on Sunday during a traffic enforcement stop at the intersection of Mitchell Street and Poquonnock Road, the narrative said. After stopping the car, police searched the vehicle and found 10.3 ounces of marijuana packaged for sale, 1.65 ounces of amphetamines, scales, baggies, plastic containers, measuring spoons, three cellphones, $153 in cash, a knife and a stun gun, the narrative said.
