Groton — Police located and charged a man Friday after a Virginia police department reported that there was an active arrest warrant there for him.

Eric Blythe, 43, of 36 Allen St. was charged on a warrant with being a fugitive from justice.

According to a release, the Groton City Police Department received a phone call Friday morning from the Christiansburg Police Department in Christianburg, Va. Officers there had obtained an arrest warrant for Blythe on a charge of soliciting a minor via computer communications. Groton City officers obtained an arrest warrant for the charge of being a fugitive from justice as well as a search and seizure warrant.

Blythe was arrested and was being held on $200,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court at 10 a.m. Monday.
