Police identify Taftville woman found dead in Shetucket River
Lisbon — State police are investigating the death of a 49-year-old Taftville woman, Diane Houchins, who was found dead near a boat ramp on the Shetucket River.
Police found Houchins’ body early Saturday morning near a boat launch on South Burnham Highway. Detectives from the Eastern District Major Crime Unit have taken over the investigation, though police said the incident is not considered a criminal one.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine Houchins’ cause of death. Police are asking anyone with information about Houchins’ death to contact state police at (860) 848-6500 or send a text message to the agency’s confidential tip line at 274637.
