    Groton police arrest New London man on heroin, cocaine, marijuana charges

    Groton — Groton Town police arrested a New London man Friday and charged him with multiple counts of heroin and cocaine possession and intent to sell the drugs after an investigation by the regional drug task force.

    Town police, with members of the Regional Community Enhancement Task Force, discovered Robert McIntear, 29, in a local hotel with cocaine and heroin packaged for sale, police said in a news release.

    Police said McIntear, who lives at 25 Blackhall St., tried to flee and resisted arrest. He was taken into custody unharmed. He was released after posting a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on July 18.

    He is charged with possession of heroin, possession of cocaine, possession of heroin with intent to sell, possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession of marijuana and resisting arrest.
