Montville — State police arrested a Norwich man on Thursday on charges of child pornography possession.

Thomas A. Walsh, 32, of 28 Pine St. faces one count of first-degree illegal possession of child pornography. Walsh turned himself in to state police on Thursday after learning of the warrant for his arrest. Held in lieu of a $100,000 bond, he was due to appear Thursday in Norwich Superior Court.

Walsh’s arrest was the result of an investigation that started in February, when the state police computer crimes unit said it became aware that files of suspected child pornography were shared from an internet account at Walsh’s home. State police joined with Norwich police in April for a search of Walsh’s home, where a computer and other items were seized.

Police said files of suspected child pornography were discovered on the seized items.
