East Lyme — A single-car crash closed state Route 1 at Bride Brook Road for much of Tuesday afternoon, according to the state Department of Transportation.

DOT officials said the car crashed into a pole in the area not long before noon.

Eversource's outage map showed 17 people were without power at 12:15 p.m.

By 3 p.m., the road reopened and outages were resolved.
