Groton — A New London man who is on federal probation for narcotics and weapons trafficking was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly sold cocaine in Groton, according to Groton Town police.

Police said they obtained a warrant for 30-year-old Ezra Patrick, whose last known address is 18 Cliff St., New London, after a monthlong investigation into the sale of cocaine in Groton. They worked with police in Waterford, a town Patrick is known to frequent, and other members of the Regional Community Enhancement Task Force on the case.

According to town police, Waterford police pulled Patrick over Monday morning and arrested him based on the Groton Town warrant, which charges Patrick with two counts of possession of narcotics and two counts of sale of narcotics.

Processed at the Groton Town police station, Patrick was held on a $50,000 bond and was due in New London Superior Court on Tuesday.

Patrick additionally could face charges for violating his federal probation, police said.
