Officials: Man apparently drowns after Bridgeport bar fight

Bridgeport — Authorities in Bridgeport say a man apparently has drowned after getting into a fight outside a restaurant overnight.

Bridgeport city spokesman Brett Broesder said Saturday morning that a second person who left the scene is being sought in connection with the incident.

He said police were called at around 1:15 a.m. about a fight outside Chubby's bar & Grill, which is located on the Bridgeport-Fairfield city line. The two people apparently fell into the water behind the restaurant as a result of the fight.

Broesder said no weapons were believed to be involved and there's no connection to the Vibes Concert in Bridgeport.
